It's the skill set every employer needs and few school curricula include, Soft Skills. The Daytona Regional Chamber in partnership with Volusia County Schools, hosts the 4th annual Soft Skills Youth Summit on Tuesday, November 12, from 10:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m.
High school juniors and seniors will take part in this interactive program with business leaders sharing their expertise on the requirements of a professional workplace. Students will learn about the four following topics: Communication, Leadership, Organization & Time Management, and Punctuality & Work Ethic. Volunteers will lead the conversations in rotating 15-minute sessions.
Following the discussions on these vital employability skills, participating students will have an opportunity to engage in a small group business lunch with one of the business volunteers. The finale features a keynote speech from Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
