The next Leadership Daytona Reunion will focus on education and specifically, early learning. The Chair's Challenge for Leadership Daytona Class XLIII in 2023 centered around raising awareness of 3rd grade reading scores in Volusia County and the impact literacy has on both our present and future workforce. Join us to hear about Class XLIII's response and the emerging new program, Readers to Leaders, a partnership of the Daytona Regional Chamber, Leadership Daytona Alumni Council, Early Learning Coalition of Flagler Volusia, and Volusia County Schools. We will discuss the importance youth literacy has on the prosperity of our region, as well as ways in which you can get involved with your time, talent, or treasure.
In addition to hearing about this new initiative, attendees will also enjoy a presentation on the importance of access to quality early learning from Madeleine Thakur, President & CEO of The Children's Movement of Florida. She will share a statewide perspective and provide great context for the impact Readers to Leaders will have on our early learners in the region.
The Leadership Daytona Alumni Council invites all alumni to revisit the Leadership Daytona experience and reconnect with classmates and fellow alumni at the Leadership Daytona Reunion. This twice-yearly event will provide an opportunity for Leadership Daytona Alumni to gather and get an update on a Leadership topic that may have been presented during your time in the program. The goal is to ensure our leaders stay connected and up to date with the latest information in our community.
